Cyclist earns Team USA's second medal of the Olympics
American cyclist Chloe Dygert has earned Team USA's second medal of the Olympics with a bronze in the women's time trials. Dygert battled through a slick rainy day in Tokyo to finish third with a time of 41:10.70.
The 24-year-old Dygert was five seconds down on Australian Grace Brown at the first intermediate time check and lost more time as the race progressed. She was eventually 1:32.39 slower than Brown, who won the gold medal.
Dygert's bronze medal is her second Olympic medal, adding to the team pursuit gold she won at the 2016 Rio Games. It is also the second medal for Team USA in cycling at the Tokyo Olympics, after Brandon McNulty won silver in the men's time trial.
Dygert's performance is a testament to her resilience and determination. She crashed hard in the road race earlier this week, but she was able to recover and bounce back to win a medal. Her bronze medal is a great achievement for her and for Team USA.
